Google has published a chrome extension to counter phishing.The extension "Password Alert" is available for free.
Password Alert only works for Google sites. It compares your password with your Google Account password en gives a notification if you're not on a official site of Google.
It also looks for phishing sites before you start typing your password. If you do however type your password it will ask you to change your password of your google Account.
I'm not exactly sure why the passwords have to be compared. It doesn't really make sense to me. What do you guys think?
